Wedding ceremonies

Solo violin - Mike would play solo, unaccompanied, which would be the single melody line with various double stops added at times. This simple, but elegant sound adds a touch of intimacy (and portability) to your ceremony. The music is pleasantly audible but not overpowering. Many of the solo selections with the added double notes give the impression of having 2 instruments.

Violin duet - Mike and Diane both play as a violin duet, offering an elegant and full string sound. This combination is subject to availability. Audio clips available here.
The music can be tailored to your specifications. The typical wedding service includes the following:
Prelude music usually begins 15 to 30 minutes before the ceremony begins while guests are arriving. This is usually from standard repertoire chosen by the musicians. There is no need for you to pick all of this, but if you have specific requests you would like to have played, we will try to accommodate. You may want to select a special piece for the seating of the mothers, grandmothers, etc.
Processional music to walk down the aisle to. There is typically a selection for the bridesmaids and a separate piece for the bride.
During the ceremony there could be music during the lighting of a unity candle, communion, signing of documents, slide shows, or other special moments.
Usually upbeat recessional music while the bride and groom and wedding party exit the ceremony.
Postlude music while the guests are leaving. This also can be chosen by the musicians. Please let us know of any special requests.
We play most of the standard wedding repertoire but can usually accommodate special requests. If something takes a lot of additional time to arrange (in the case of the violin duo) or requires purchasing music there may be an additional charge, but we will let you know in advance if that is the case. Most tunes are not difficult to transcribe for solo or violin duet.
