Strolling Violin

I am pleased to offer this service for dinners, receptions, or other events as one of the few strolling violinists in the area. My first strolling violin event took place at the restaurant of the Embassy Club in Des Moines, Iowa located on the 33rd floor of the Ryan Building. Since that time most of my events have been at lower altitudes!
What is strolling violin? I can always provide solo violin background music for your event while reading off of the music. As a strolling violinist, what I play will be memorized. This means that I don't have to be stationary but am free to walk around unhindered to other parts of your venue. One of my favorite parts of this experience is walking around to tables or up to guests and taking requests. My repertoire list of songs is fairly big and growing. If I am asked for a song that is not currently in my repertoire, since I am pretty comfortable playing by ear I can usually come up with something if I have heard the song before. (If not I will go home and learn it!) I am also able to provide a partial printed list of songs that I know for distribution to guests.
Click here for a partial listing of possible songs that are already available. My general strolling repertoire is a collection of light classical selections with periodic popular songs and show tunes as well as fiddle pieces thrown in. I am also able to accommodate specific requests that I know about ahead of time, or include songs with a particular theme, etc.
